Richard Laughton
Business Agent/Organizer
Rick has been a Teamster for over 45 years. He comes from a Teamster family with decades of service to Teamsters Local 633. Rick’s first Teamster job was at the Seabrook Nuclear Power plant in 1978 during its’ construction. He then worked for City Concrete/Aggregate Industries for close to 25 years, serving as the elected Shop Steward for sixteen of those years. He has also spent time in the freight industry at Blue Line Express in Nashua and Gypsum Haulage in Portsmouth.
Rick first served the local union as a volunteer organizer for years before becoming a Trustee in 1999. Later in 2000 Rick became elected as the Recording Secretary, and then in 2006 elected as a Business Agent.
Rick has served on National, Regional, State, and local boards and panels.
He proudly served as Sergeant-at Arms for Teamster International Conventions starting in 1996 at the Philadelphia Convention and other subsequent conventions in Las Vegas and elsewhere.
He sits on the Teamster National Negotiating Team for the Freight contracts at ABF and TForce Freight. Rick is the Sergeant-at -Arms for the National Freight Grievance panel and the Secretary of the Eastern Region Joint Area Freight Committee.
General President Sean O’Brien has also appointed Rick as an Eastern Region Freight Rep.
He has attended Teamster Leadership Academy seminars in Washington DC.
