International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 633 Business Agent and Political Coordinator Rick Laughton, accompanied by Teamster International Representative Trish DiSilva, recently met with Congressional candidate Stefany Shaheen in Dover. Stefany Shaheen is absolutely a pro-labor candidate and has pledged her support on all issues concerning our members. During the meeting, many important topics affecting working families and union members were discussed, including workplace safety, unemployment, directing more resources to trade schools, and rebuilding the union middle class.

One of Stefany’s main priorities is improving access to affordable healthcare for those who truly need it but cannot currently access it. We discussed the rising cost of healthcare and how those costs impact the ability to increase wages while keeping employees’ healthcare contributions affordable. Tariffs and the increased costs being passed on to our members were also part of the conversation.
Secretary-Treasurer Jeff Padellaro has met one-on-one with Candidate Shaheen many times and said she has always been a friend to Local 633 and is in this fight for working families. Padellaro stated that she is the right candidate for the job and for labor across our state.

D.R.I.V.E. is such an important part of our union. Our funds support candidates like Shaheen who stand with working people and support the labor issues that matter most to our members.
Stefany Shaheen has earned support from the Democratic Mayors of CD1, IBEW 490, former Governor John Lynch, environmental steward Dudley Dudley, former State Senators Jon Morgan and Tom Sherman, Testing for Pease Founder Andrea Amico, Mary Carey Foley, Portsmouth Police Chief Mark Newport, Strafford County Sheriff Kathryn Mone, as well as hundreds of local small business owners, elected officials and community leaders.
